The global economic situation requires effective management practices to improve the profitability of milk production establishments, especially in tropical livestock. The objective is to demonstrate the effect on reproductive efficiency through the use of two protocols (eCG and Ovsynch) for IATF in tropical cattle. The methodology was by treatments, with a completely randomized block design; Ovsynch bases were applied and data analysis was done using the InfoStat software for analysis of variance. The results obtained were from the treatment of 40 cows to which the modified protocol (eCG) was applied, 26 (65%) were pregnant on rectal palpation at 55 days of gestation and 33 cows to which the traditional protocol was applied. from Ovsynch, 17 (51%) tested positive for the diagnosis of transrectal pregnancy on day 55 of gestation. In conclusion, fixed-time insemination in lactating Bos indicus cows and with Ovsynch protocols, heat and pregnancy detection is feasible.
