Productive performance of shrimp (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) fed with three levels of bovine blood meal as a dietary protein source in the diet

In this research, we sought to evaluate the productive behavior of juvenile Macrobrachium rosenbergii in response to bovine blood meal as a protein source. Developed in the Aquaculture Module of the "Fundo Cacatachi" of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences (FCA) of the UNSM. 3000 juvenile shrimp with an average weight of 2.18 g were used, who consumed four isoprotein diets (30% and 28% PB) for the growth and fattening stage: T0 Control (HP), T1 (2% HSB), T2 (3% HSB) and T3 (5% HSB). The results in terms of size and weight T0, 18.91 cm, 34.30 g, T1 (2% HSB), 25.58 cm, 35.34 g, T2 (3% HSB), 22.31 cm, 37.97 and T3 (5% HSB) 21.18 cm, 43.20 g. The results showed that the HSB treatments resulted in better size (25.58 cm), greater weight gain (27.16 g), a better average feed conversion ratio (2.17 +/- 1.54), and improved feed utilization efficiency (44.2%). Furthermore, in terms of economic merit, lower costs per kilogram of feed were obtained (T3 = 2.77 and 2.56 s/kg). It was concluded that the "Chusca" variety has the best performance for use in silage. Significant differences were observed in (final weight (g), final size (cm), weight gain (g), feed conversion (FC), and feed utilization efficiency).
