Perfil hematológico e intervalos de referencia en ganado de lidia de la provincia Bolívar

Resumen

Se evaluó el perfil hematológico mediante intervalos de referencia en ganado de lidia de la provincia Bolívar, Ecuador. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo en ganado de lidia de la Hacienda La Cristalina, cantón Guaranda, clasificados en tres grupos etarios [31 vaconas (13 a 16 meses), 49 vacas (> 3 años) y 20 toros (> 3 años)]. Las muestras de sangre se obtuvieron de la vena coccígea media y se analizaron mediante un analizador hematológico automatizado para evaluar los parámetros hematológicos. El perfil hematológico obtenido es compatible con bovinos clínicamente sanos, con solapamiento entre categorías, aunque con variaciones biológicas atribuibles a la edad y al sexo. El eritrograma mostró mayor amplitud de intervalos en hembras, mientras que los toros presentaron un perfil algo más homogéneo. El leucograma mostró una mayor amplitud neutrofílica en toros y mayor dispersión eosinofílica en hembras adultas, mientras que las vaconas mostraron mayor amplitud en recuento plaquetario y plaquetocrito. Con relación a los sólidos totales, los menores valores fueron observados en toros. Se concluye que el perfil hematológico del ganado de lidia se ubica dentro de los rangos fisiológicos propios de la especie, sin embargo, sus intervalos de referencia deben interpretarse de forma específica para esta población.
