San Martín, its potential and economic importance as a supplier region of Peru

Abstract

According to (Gob.pe, 2022), the San Martín Region in Peru is one of the regions that presents the best conditions for economic reactivation and recovery. In fact, its macroeconomic indicators such as GDP have been slightly higher than the national rate since 2019 and its projection for 2022 and 2023 point to the same. Additionally, despite the blow suffered as a result of the pandemic and the loss of jobs, its unemployment rate is one of the lowest in the country (5.4%). The same portal (Gob.pe, 2022) mentions the need for the national government to facilitate the reactivation of the region, supporting incentives such as providing conditions of stability and promoting the execution of public investment projects.
