Lack of effective intervention can result in an increase in the incidence and recurrence of vaginal infections, exacerbating the negative impacts on women's quality of life and on the economy of the health system. The aim of the study was to evaluate the in vitro antimicrobial action of Jatropha curcas (White Pine) stem resin against Gardnerella vaginalis and Candida albicans, microorganisms associated with female infections. Laboratory materials and techniques such as McFarland analysis and the macrodilution method were used, verifying the results with the Tukey test. The results showed that the resin inhibited the growth of Gardnerella vaginalis, especially at the highest concentrations (T4 and T3, with T4 being the most effective). As for Candida albicans, no inhibition was observed at low concentrations, but concentrations of 40% and 60% showed significant inhibition halos. It is concluded that the resin from the stem of Jatropha curcas presents variable antimicrobial activity depending on the concentration, being effective against Gardnerella vaginalis and Candida albicans in in vitro studies, especially at high concentrations. The Tukey test confirmed the statistical significance of these findings.
