Diagnostic accuracy and quality of obstetric clinical records in a hospital in San Martin

The global challenge in obstetric clinical records led the Ministry of Health to implement legal measures to guarantee effective services that respect the rights of users. The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the quality of obstetric clinical records in presumptive diagnosis according to NTS No. 029, Hospital II-2 Tarapoto - 2023. The study was basic, with a non-experimental, quantitative, correlational, and cross-sectional research design. The sample consisted of 467 obstetric clinical records of patients seen in the outpatient department from January to June 2023. Results: The evaluation of the obstetric clinical records of Hospital II-2 Tarapoto shows high quality in several dimensions, with strengths in the clinical history, but weaknesses in presumptive diagnosis III and frequent errors such as poor readability (57.6 %), incorrect use of the ICD-10 (23.6 %), and diagnostic inconsistency (18.8 %). It is concluded that the quality of the obstetric clinical records at Hospital II-2 Tarapoto presents a high level of compliance in most of its dimensions, especially highlighting the anamnesis, clinical examination, work plan and obstetrician procedures with 100 % at a high level.
